How it started

I couldn't find what I was looking for. So I made it myself.

It started with a serum. I wanted something affordable, effective, and completely free from the ingredients I didn't want on my skin — synthetic fragrances, sulphates, and all the unnecessary extras that seem to come standard in most products on the market. I couldn't find it. So I made my own.
Using pure, natural ingredients, I created a serum that did everything the expensive brands promised — without the harm. A friend tried it. Then another. And quietly, without a grand plan, AE Collective was born.
From there, things grew naturally. Requests came in, needs emerged, and the range expanded. A face wash. A day moisturiser. Each one developed the same way the serum was — because I needed it, I couldn't find a clean version I trusted, so I made it myself.

Then my kids started growing up.

One morning during homeschool, I looked at my children and realised — they're going to need skincare soon. And I felt exactly the same way I did when I couldn't find a clean serum for myself. I wasn't willing to hand them products full of chemicals that could interfere with their developing bodies.
So I created the Pure Teen range. Same philosophy. Same standards. Just made for them.

What we believe is simple.
Nature already has the answers. Not in a complicated way — just in the quiet, practical way that a plant-based ingredient often outperforms a lab-created substitute. We don't overcomplicate it. We keep it clean, keep it honest, and make sure every ingredient earns its place.
No junk. No fragrance. No compromise.

But AE Collective was never just about skincare.
I have always been drawn to beautiful, intentional things — clothing that feels as good as it looks, pieces that reflect who you actually are rather than what everyone else is wearing. Our clothing range grew from exactly that. Comfortable, bohemian styles made for real life — because authentic elegance isn't about following trends. It's about owning your own style, unapologetically.

And then there are the makers.
South Africa is full of incredibly talented people creating beautiful handmade things — and not enough spaces to share them. So we created one. Our Artisan Collection is a curated space for local makers to showcase their craft, and for you to own something truly one of a kind.
